Joseph walked into the class, with a small bag in his arms. He gave a bright smile to the new Professor, and took a seat in the middle of the classroom. He double-checked the list on the board, and gave a sigh of relief when he was finished. Good thing I remembered all of my class materials.
The Cermenho student got out his wand, and gave the bag a tap as he recited an incantation under his breath. The whole inventory, which had been charmed to fit in the container, launched out of the bag and landed neatly upon the desk in front of him. Joseph let out another sigh, and looked up to the Potions Professor.

Damien was glancing out the window, then turned, staring at the new student.
"Guten Tag. Pleaze ztart by writing the rulez on the board. Once the other students arrive we'll begin shortly."
Upon the board are the rules which are clearly written.
Quote:
1. No talking! 2. Do not mix any ingredients other then those I specify. Some mixtures are highly toxic and could kill you by a mere breath. 3. No Spells, Charms or Prank items are allowed within class. 4. No passing notes 5.Pay Attention! Everything in this class is highly important!

Joseph nodded, and started copying down the rules for this class. All of them seemed like ones that he already followed in his other courses, so this shouldn't be much of a problem. Academics had always been his number one prioriety, and he didn't plan to make a bad impression on the new Potions Professor.
Since it was so small, Joseph was soon finished copying down the five rules. He then opened up his Potions textbook, and began reading about the most common ingredients in magical potions.

Kurtis quickly ran into the room, holding on tightly to his supplies. His long black hair was messy today, it seems he hadn't had time to brush it this morning. Kurtis takes a seat next to Joseph, quickly scribbling down notes, avoiding to look at his father and professor.

Damien nods." Well. It appears that the other students are tardy. Let's begin with some simple questions about ingredients shall we? I'm sure you both read atleast some of your books before term. What are the two other names for Aconite?" His eyes focus upon Kurtis mostly. He and Kurtis had gone over these ingredients atleast a dozen times before.

Joseph smiled. This must be just an easy question to warm up the new class. I would think any witch or wizard would know this without a second of consideration.
"The correct answers are Monkshood and Wolfsbane, Professor," he stated as he raised his hand into the air. "Because of its extremely poisonous properties, it was given the nickname of wolfsbane. However, it was given the name of monkshood because the shape of the plant's flowers sometimes resemble a monk's cowl..."

Joseph smiled, and looked back to the section of the textbook they were currently covering. It was always a good idea to keep it open nearby so that you could catch yourself before making a mistake. Seems like Potions won't be too difficult this year. Hopefully I can manage to take another 'O' mark home to the family...

Xane walked into class without caring that he was late. His little, black kitten, Shadow, followed behind him. He walked to the back of the classroom and sat down. Shadow jumped up on the table and curled into a ball.
